GRAMMAR POINT:  

Comparatives and superlatives: Long adjectives

To make comparative adjectives, we normally add -er or -r.

white--> whiter

For adjectives that ind in consonant + y, we delete the y and add -ier

funny--> funnier

For adjectives with 2 or moresyllables, we put more before the adjective.

These chairs are more comfortable than the old chairs.

You can use less in the same way as more.

The old chairs are less comfortable than the new chairs.

Irregular comparatives and superlatives:

good                        bad

better                       worse

best                          worst
