Present perfect + ever
Use the construction "Have you ever....?" to mean in your life up to now.
Has he ever been to a desert?
No, he hasn´t.
Has he ever climbed a volcano?
Yes, he has.
Remember to use the past participle with the present perfect form. Some of the past participles are irregular like been or fallen.

Use never to talk about things you have not in your life up to now.
I´ve never seen a volcano.
